Most complete breakdown here: www.gamegrene.com/node/976Well, folks, looks like it's time to start spreading the gospel of S&S, now that OD&D can't be gotten legally! Get out there and help us profit from WotC's asshatitude.

On one hand, this will help all the retro-clones. On the other, I hope WotC isn't getting their lawyers ready for mass notices to the publishers. Because, while you can say it's all OGL, you'll need to hire a lawyer and go to court to defend your game.

Well, I for one, am friends with two lawyers. Anyway, it's pretty cut and dried as WotC themselves published the statement on their website that they can't copyright a game system, and none of us have stolen any expressions.
S&S is its own game, anyway. OSRIC and LL and S&W might have a bit more to worry about, but WotC coming after S&S would be akin to them going after Troll Lord Games for C&C, and that's not gonna happen.
