Since we here at Elf Lair didn't have our product ready for Free RPG Day, we would like to, as a gift to our fans, make the Deluxe Spellcraft & Swordplay e-book available FOR FREE from Wednesday through Friday of this week.
No strings, no catches: Wednesday, July 8 through Friday, July 10, head over to the Lulu store, and download the Deluxe edition of S&S for free!
This promotion will be followed by (as soon as I finish cleaning it up and designing a cover) the Spellcraft & Swordplay Basic Set, which will be 100% FREE in e-book format, and available in print for a very nominal cost. The Spellcraft & Swordplay Basic Set is a stripped-down (but complete) version of the rules, allowing for no Elite Paths and only the first three levels of play. It is 48 pages and 8.5 x 11 in size.
The Basic Set will be free in e-book format, permanently. We've had TONS of requests for a free starter kit version of the rules, and we've listened. I hope to have that available within a few weeks.

Thank you for that Jason, I am a happy man. I hope this move brings in a horde of new customers. I'll hold off buying Monstrous Mayhem until you've released the new version and you've certainly whetted my appetite with your descriptions of upcoming games on the ELG flyer at the back of the book, especially Apotheosis and EirĂș.

This is awesome, Thanks Jason. I now have been able to preview all the extra M&M goodies (I bought the revised pocket softcover a few weeks back), and when I get my next order together for LULU, I'll just grab a copy of Deluxe- will be nice to have everything in the proper place in one volume! and then of course I want Eldritch Witchery P.S. I've been spreading the word on EnWorld and elsewhere.

Remember, Jeff, as has been extensively discussed here and elsewhere, Deluxe doesn't include the entirety of MM, only those elements I felt belonged in the core rules to begin with.

Ahh I see- Thx for the clarification, I admit to not poking around the threads too deeply about Deluxe. My impression is that Deluxe included most of MM barring the "conversion" rules (i.e it included the New Elite paths, spells, monsters, the "extra rules" like mass combat, ship combat, etc etc.) I need to investigate my copy further. At any rate- all the postings from people who have donwloaded seem positive! In particular several people have commented on the very cool art!

Yeah, I'm going to be releasing a sort of expurgated edition of MM (which will be called Monstrous Mayhem Deluxe) to go with the Deluxe S&S. It'll be shorter, obviously, containing only teh material that didn't make it into S&S Deluxe, and will have an accordingly lower price point.
