Hey I just wanted to say I REALLY like S&S. I received a copy of the 3 book Revised Old School Edition for Christmas, and couldn't be more happy with the product.
The combat system is quite refreshing, it seems like for every other system you use a different dice for every action. Weapon vs AC is very realistic, and one of my favorite aspects of the system.
Magic is handled in a interesting manner as well, Instant, Delayed, and Fizzled. I liked how a Wizard doesn't lose a spell unless he fumbles it.
Editing is well done and easy to reference.
The use of the d6 as the only die used in the system is a great idea, not only is it simple to have to reach for one die type, people new to role-playing who don't have a local game shop will have no problem obtaining the dice from just about any board game or store.
Overall a very well written and easy to play game with just the right amount of realism, no simple task.
