No, not really. The two kind of came up together, but 12 Parsecs is something I've been messing about with for at least 5 or 6 years, now. Solar Burn is the 5e version of Amazing Adventures: StarSIEGE. It's a setting I pitched to Steve at TLG specifically for the reboot of StarSIEGE as an Amazing Adventures sourcebook. It's also pretty inexorably tied to the future of the Troll Lord Games multiverse as the Rings of Brass are a major part of the setting. 12 Parsecs is going to be a full RPG without an embedded setting, though it will probably have Star Worlds like Night Shift's Nightworlds. Solar Burn won't be one of them, though, as I have agreed to grant Troll Lord Games exclusive license to everything I publish via Amazing Adventures so long as they wish to keep publishing it. If they ever put it out of print, the unfettered rights to all of it will be mine, and AA SIEGE will probably become powered by O.G.R.E.S. It's likely that by the time that happens, 5e won't even be a thing anymore.

Thanks! That gives me a better idea (and by all means feel free to shift this to another topic if more appropriate).
I have a particular interest that I'll look for the best place to read or ask about. It seems a bit quiet on TLG AA forum.

The TLG forums have been all but dead for years, now. They're still up, but we never look at them. Everything has moved to the official D&D and AA Facebook discussion groups.

I peek in on the TLG forums every couple of days, and clear out any SPAM posts I might find. It is a little quiet there, but I'm hoping that some folks get some chatter going there because I enjoy discussions on message boards more than FB. (The problem with FB is that it's too linear and old posts sink farther and farther. Message boards have the advantage that they can host discussions in parallel and it's easier to find older ideas. Just my two coppers.) As to StarSIEGE, I found that the original system just wasn't close enough to C&C to suit my needs. What I had wanted was a book where I could blend C&C stuff with scifi, and StarSIEGE just didn't really do that well. My current group is really into 5E, so 5E Amazing Adventures is right up their alley. That means that Solar Burn (the 5E AA scifi book) will do exactly what I had hoped from StarSIEGE all those years ago.

You know we did rerelease StarSIEGE as an Amazing Adventures (SIEGE Engine) supplement, too, correct?
