Good news, folks.
It looks like I'm going to be able to do the boxed sets for S&S. I've had to make some minor trade offs in print quality for it, but I found boxes, textured parchment-like cover stock, and have gotten hold of labels for the lid graphics.
I've just run off test copies of the covers and box lid graphics, and they look good. Not quite as good as Lulu quality, as I'm doing these on my Samsung CLP-315 laser printer, but they do look really nice.
I'm working on swinging a higher end printer for the innards, if I can. That's still up in the air.
The price point I am currently looking at for these will be $25. A tad higher than the $23 I'd originally estimated, but that's how my numbers worked out.
That's actually one of the reasons I'm posting this. If the extra 2 bucks is a deal-breaker, please say so now before I dive headlong into the project.
It will still be a little while before they're available, as I want to complete the system revision and make these the inaugural release for that.
For now, these will be limited to 25 copies, signed and numbered. If they take off we may look at an unlimited run, which will be similar, save not signed and numbered, I may make a very minor change to the lid graphics and/or books to differentiate it, and they may not have amenities like color character sheets or include dice.
The box will include:
This is also dependent upon me getting the boxes in hand and making sure everything will actually fit inside.
Finally, since I am hand-assembling these, the only way they will be available is through direct order with payment by Paypal. I'll provide more details for that when the time comes, but yes, I'm afraid you'll need to have a paypal account to get one.
That's all for now. More as the project progresses further.

The box will include:
- All 3 volumes of the game
- Reference Sheets (only available in the boxed set!) which reproduce useful tables and rules info for quick access
- 2d6 (the revised books will no longer require d10's)
- Digest-sized Character Sheets (4 full-color "notebook" style and two b&w photocopy-able)
